Lauren Lopena Judd received the 鈥淐ommunity Scholar鈥 award from the Housing and Community Development Network of 麻豆传媒 (HCDNNJ). She is the first NJCU student to receive such an award. The award is competitive, and just 15 individuals were selected from a broad pool of candidates.  Applicants hailed from colleges and universities from New England to Miami, FL. Lopena Judd and others received their certificate of achievement awards during a luncheon celebration at Forsgate Country Club, Monroe Township, NJ in August.

Lopena Judd graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Summa Cum Laude in May 2017.  She is currently an MBA candidate at the NJCU School of Business, with a specialization in Organizational Management & Leadership.
