Throughout the academic year, employers from the STEM fields come to the NJCU campus (or connect with us via Zoom) to meet NJCU students and to share information about their internship and full-time job opportunities. We also coordinate with employers to host on-campus interviews for their open internship and job opportunities.
The NJCU Mentoring Program () effectively connects NJCU alumni with current students who are seeking career advice. The mentoring relationship with alumni can potentially lead to internships and jobs at their place of employment or at companies they are well connected to. Matching is based on academic background, career information, geographic location, availability, and interests.

NJCU STEM majors are highly encouraged to complete one or more internships in their field of study during their time as an undergraduate student. Internships allow students to apply their classroom knowledge to the real world, obtain professional connections and references, learn new career skills and knowledge, and gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Internship/Job Search Websites

Forage
is an online resource which offers virtual experience programs designed by leading companies. Develop your skills and gain a real understanding of different roles and industries by working through these self-paced modules, with tasks similar to those you would undertake during a traditional internship.
What does it involve?
- You will work through a series of resources and hypothetical tasks that are designed to simulate the sort of work you would undertake as an intern or full-time employee at the organization. It's a unique opportunity for you to try out a career at your own pace and in your own time, from the comfort of your home.
- It takes five to six hours to complete one program and you can complete as many programs as you like. All experiences are completely free of charge for students and alumni from Â鶹´«Ã½.
Programs include:
- Video instructions and real life examples from employees within your chosen organization.
- Work that reflects real day-to-day tasks of interns and employees.
- Curated resources to help you complete the tasks

How can I take part?
There are no lengthy application processes as programs are free and accessible to all students and alumni. Simply pick your program, create an account on the Forage website and get started right away.
The Cooperative Education Program enables students to combine classroom learning with practical experience and provides an opportunity to utilize skills and knowledge acquired in the classroom in a professional environment. As part of Co-op Ed Program, students earn academic credits through internships and part-time or full-time work experience.

Employers are invited to come to the NJCU campus (or visit via Zoom) to introduce their organization and the internship, part-time, and/or full-time job opportunities. Employer Info Sessions are also a great opportunity to meet with and engage with our talented and driven students.
Are you looking for a convenient and cost-effective way to recruit candidates for your open internship/job roles? Our staff can coordinate the promotion of your organization’s internship/job opportunities and work with you to schedule on-campus interviews with a talented pool of candidates. We can also coordinate virtual interview days.
We invite local professionals/employers to lead discussions/workshops on a variety of different topics for our students. These sessions typically fall under at least one of the following categories: industry information; general professional development topics; and soft skills training.
