I am constantly in awe of the beauty found in nature, working to capture its magnificent beauty through my lens. My photographs are based on work that explores images I have made during my travels to visit family and friends in Portugal and Spain. These photographs lead me to explore the Hackensack River, Kill Van Kull Strait, and the Newark Bay; the nature found in these locations greatly contrasts with that of the Iberian peninsula’s natural landscape. With this in mind I wanted to explore how industrialization has taken over the once intensely beautiful waterways of Â鶹´«Ã½ & New York. Whether pleasure or disgust, I look at the beauty found, not only in the undisturbed landscape of the Iberian Peninsula but the beauty found in Â鶹´«Ã½ and New York's wetland areas. These waterways while over industrialized are able to hold onto that beauty and awe that inspired me in Portugal and Spain. It might not be of the natural beauty found there, but what is seen/left behind by the balance of machinery and the burden of industry on these waterways: as seen in views from the Bayonne Bridge, Newark Bay, Hackensack river and the views from a park along the water of the Kill Van Kull Strait.
