Please note that the Commission makes available the opportunity to submit third party comments regarding the institution’s compliance with standards for accreditation, requirements of affiliation, policies and procedures, and applicable federal regulatory requirements in accordance with . Filing a Complaint with the State of Â鶹´«Ã½ Office of Higher Education

For all types of complaints concerning colleges and universities, the first course of action must be to try to resolve the complaint directly with the administration of the college or university involved. The Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) will not review a complaint until all grievance procedures at the institution have been followed, all avenues of appeal exhausted, and documentation provided that such procedures have been exhausted.

OSHE handles only those complaints that concern educational programs or practices of degree-granting institutions subject to the Regulations of OSHE, with the exceptions noted below.

2023 Evaluation Team Report

Â鶹´«Ã½ hosted a Middle States Commission on Higher Education Evaluation Team site visit in early October 2023, which resulted in a very positive Evaluation Team Report. The Team acknowledged the significant work that NJCU has done since the summer of 2022, and the remarkable progress we have made on financial stabilization and institutional effectiveness, within a framework of shared governance, and ethics and integrity, under the leadership of Interim President Acebo.

Programmatic Accreditation/Recognition

The Art Department at Â鶹´«Ã½ is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (). NASAD is has been designated by the United States Department of Education as the agency responsible for the accreditation throughout the United States of free standing institutions, and units offering art/design and art/design-related programs (both degree- and non-degree-granting), including those offered via distance education.

The Business programs in the School of Business at Â鶹´«Ã½ are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (), recognized by the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education.

The programs, housed within the College of Education at Â鶹´«Ã½, are accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (), recognized by the Council of Higher Education (CHEA).

The Media Arts Department at Â鶹´«Ã½ is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (). NASAD is has been designated by the United States Department of Education as the agency responsible for the accreditation throughout the United States of free standing institutions, and units offering art/design and art/design-related programs (both degree- and non-degree-granting), including those offered via distance education.

The Music, Dance, and Theatre Department at Â鶹´«Ã½ is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (), recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the agency responsible for the accreditation of all music curricula.

The programs in Nursing at Â鶹´«Ã½ are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (), 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

The program in School Psychology at Â鶹´«Ã½ is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (). The School Psychology program is also recognized by the International School Psychology Association ().

Â鶹´«Ã½ educator preparation programs are housed in the Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe College of Education. Instructional certificate teacher education programs at Â鶹´«Ã½ are accredited by the (CAEP).
